Building a Taxonomy of Hybridization: An Institutional Logics Perspective on Societal Impact

The hybridization movement reflects the shift and convergence of market-focused corporations on one hand social oriented organizations other towards more integrated value-creating hybrid arrangements. Hybridity is usually defined as combination two different contradicting institutional logics. However, hybridity literature incongruent, inconsistent seemingly addressing spheres hybridity, rendering construct ineffective for empirical analysis between varied natures. purpose this study to arrive at a conceptualization from an perspective that allows comparison nature across time contexts. Adopting taxonomical approach based societal triangle, systematic review (n = 109) conducted identify characteristics, issues challenges eight archetypical non-hybrid organizations. Consequently, authors propose thematic mapping relevant into five clustered themes. This map can be helpful in guiding broad range adds existing definitional terminological debate by shifting focus typological classification hybridity.
